Circa 1770, good George III mahogany snap top occasional table. The circular top is solid with a rounded fore edge. Beneath the top there are 2 runners, which attaches to the block, and the original large brass spring loaded clasp. The bird cage action is beneath with 2 blocks, 4 turned sections between them. The table top may be revolved. The top section of the base is in the form of a turned cannon barrel, tapering from bottom to top. There is a large bulbous section and then 3 wonderful chunky cabriole legs which finish in a simple pad feet on leather wheels.
