Lucite circular illuminated mirror, backlit by Hillebrand Lighting, 1970`s ca, German.

Thoroughly cleaned, newly rewired, in full working order and ready to install. Light bulbs included.This 1970`s mirror is a playful re-interpretation of the backlit mirrors from Hollywood`s Golden Age. With all the `dressing room` glamour this piece is also very sculptural.This vintage wall mirror is a clever alternative for a bedroom, living room or bathroom. Being lit from the back has the unexpected advantaged of preventing the mirror surface from steaming up when in a bathroom.The textured clear Lucite round frame is made of numerous layers of Lucite simulating water. The frame has been cleverly designed with a movement outwards from the wall, simulating a wave. It subtly illuminates and casts interesting reflections.This piece is composed of two parts. There is a white metal base with the light bulbs surrounded by the clear Lucite frame. This frame is screwed to the base. Together these attach to the wall. The second portion is the removable separate round mirror surface. This hooks onto the metal base.The metal base is framed by a white metal mesh which completes the volume. This adds depth, diffuses the light and keeps the mirror surface stable.There are 4 lights on the base for a backlit mirror with a flattering diffused illumination. Carries 4 standard small screw (E14) light bulbs up to 40 Watts each. At present fitted & photograped with Candle clear 40 Watts Light bulbs, but could take any other E14 type bulbs. The metal base is screwed to the wall through 4 holes.The round mirror surface is separate and is the original, of great quality with a depth of 6mm. At the back of the mirror surface there is a metal cross bar fitted by 4 screws to the sides of the mirror, which easily slides onto 2 hooks on the metal base.Hanging from the bottom there is a working pull cord switch.The Lucite portion is in very good condition. There are a few minor marks to the painted white metal frame in line with age. The silver mirror surface is in very good condition.Additional dimensions;The actual circular mirror surface has a diameter of 43.7 cm.
