Lucite oval illuminated wall mirror, backlit by Erco Design, 1970`s ca, German.

Thoroughly cleaned, newly rewired, in full working order and ready to install. Light bulbs included.Nothing compares to the flattering illumination from a backlit mirror. In this vintage example, the textured clear Lucite oval frame creates an elegant & sculptural piece. This wall mirror is a clever alternative for a bedroom, living room or bathroom. Being lit from the back has the unexpected advantaged of preventing the mirror surface from steaming up when in a bathroom.The wall mirror is composed of two parts. There is an oval metal base frame with the lights that screws to the wall. A removable mirror surface with a thick Lucite trim hooks onto this base.The clear Lucite textured frame is composed by multiple layers of Lucite, in a ribbon like pattern simulating water, beautifully reflecting the light.The silver mirror surface is the original vintage and of great quality with 6mm depth. It is attached in the centre and by the top & bottom sides with metal hooks & screws to the Lucite frame. Together this vertical metal portion slides into the separate white metal base. There are two hooks on the base holding the mirror securely in place.The while metal base has 8 lights inside. It is framed by a white metal mesh which completes the volume. This adds depth, diffuses the light and keeps the mirror surface stable.Carries 8 standard small screw (E14) light bulbs up to 40 Watts each. At present fitted & photographed with Candle clear 25 Watts.The white metal base screws easily to the wall through two holes on the base. The metal base has the original `Erco` maker`s label.Hanging from the bottom there is a working pull cord switch.The Lucite frame is in very good condition. The white metal frame is in very good condition with tiny marks on the paint surface in line with age. The quality 6mm mirror surface is the original vintage one, and in very good condition with no chips or scratches.Packing is offered free of charge. For safe transport the mirror portion will be removed & bubblewrapped individually. Together these pieces would fit nicely into a box for posting.Additional dimensions:The actual mirror surface is: Height: 60 cm, Width: 35 cm.The Lucite frame around the mirror is 6.5 cm wide.
