Sale Price £845. A very pretty small Inlaid Victorian Mahogany Davenport Desk. This Davenport Desk dates from the late Victorian period. It has an opening and lockable writing slope with simple fitted interior. To the left of the main pedestal are four dummy drawers each with a pair of turned mahogany handles. On the right hand side there are four opening and lockable drawers each with turned mahogany handles, together with a pull out and hinged pen drawer with compartments. This Davenport Desk stands on turned wooden feet with carved supports. The carved supports are repeated under the writing slope. The desk has plain polished figured mahogany front and rear elevations. A particular feature of this desk is the inlay ("Tunbridge Ware" Style) to the writing slope and gallery. The writing slope itself has a red leather writing surface with embossing and gilding
