Circa 1770. A neat sized Italian bombe shaped commode/chest of drawers. The top with it faux porphyry and burr walnut fore-edge, with a configuration of three well shaped drawers, each with rococo handles, escutcheons and fine burr wood veneers. The gables are similar, with fine geometric patterns. Beneath the bottom drawer there is a shaped frieze in the front, the whole piece rests on four elegant sweeping feet with a pair of sabots to the front feet.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
