As all our Tansu’s for sale - All are carefully assessed - and then
we decide what restoration is needed ( If any - some just require a polish and wax. ) We keep all out Tansu restoration to a minimum - bearing in mind we want all our Tansu to be able to go into your home immediately so you can enjoy it without worrying about any restoration, which of course is costly. It is approximately 100 years old. Meiji/Tashio Era. Mokko style handles.

Japanese Tansu

I have been a Cabinetmaker and restorer of Antiques for over 30 years. I have a particular interest in Japanese furniture and Armour and Nihonto. The Tansu's I have on offer have all been lovingly restored where necessary so that you can enjoy them straight away in your own home.
