joseph machin bute shape cup & saucer, c.1810

A porcelain Bute shape cup and saucer produced at the Machin factory in Stoke on Trent, around 1810. Decorated with a striking design of red ovals and black circles connected by undulating green leaves and gilt fronds. Both pieces bear the hand-written pattern number, 168, in red. In excellent, original, sound condition with only very minimal wear to one or two small areas of gilding on the saucer. Please note: The purchase price includes postage and packing.
