Circa 1920s. An interesting, stained beech, elm and brass Korean cabinet. The rectangular top with shaped quarter brackets above a pair of doors with three massive strap hinges, further brass plates and two large escutcheons which form of a flower head with studs and engraving. The doors open to reveal a simple interior lined with Korean printed paper. Beneath the two doors there are two drawers in the base, each with oval handles with pierced backplates in the form of butterflies and further brass strap work. The whole piece rests on four bracket feet with a small, shaped section in the center. The cabinet is clean and very stylish.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Their goal has been to create a one-stop-shop where designers can complete an entire project from antique lighting to antique furniture to accessories. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
