Circa 1815, mahogany centre table by William Trotter of Edinburgh. The mahogany top has boxwood and string inlay and rosewood cross banding. The apron is decorated with classic quilling with a stylish Trotter stem and base (see similar stem, plate 61 rosewood table supplied to Paxton House by William Trotter in 1814 at a cost of £12 and 15 shillings each. in A Directory of Edinburgh Furniture Makers by Francis Bamford) This table has bold swept legs with cast brass hairy paw feet and cast brass castor’s below. The table retains its original patination.

With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
