Circa 1860, mid Victorian mahogany dining table with 2 original leaves. The table is rectangular with a slight "D" end shape. The solid mahogany top has wonderful figured timber. There is a rounded edge and beneath the top there is a further moulding which has been added to the underside. When the table is closed there is a stylish apron at the side and at the ends. The legs are carved, fluted and tapering. At the top of each of the legs there is a carved acanthus leaf, over the tapering leg which is reeded and tapers down to a bulbous section. Beneath this there is further tapering and a large brass bezel and brass castor. The table is excellent colour and condition. Would seat 8 comfortably or 10 at a squeeze.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Their goal has been to create a one-stop-shop where designers can complete an entire project from antique lighting to antique furniture to accessories. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
