Circa 1890. A late Victorian quality oak framed two-seater sofa. The framed back, with top rail raised in the centre with a carved flower and scratch carving. The ends are surmounted by shaped finials with carved flowers beneath. The deep buttoned and pleated back, arms and seat in burgundy leather, recently (traditional) re-upholstered, the leather held in place by closed brass nails. The curved and padded arms held in place by sturdy chamfered uprights. The sofa rests on two X frame ends united by large chamfered stretcher, finishing with a proud rondel in each end, finishing on two downward facing legs with brown and porcelain castors beneath.
