Mounted, Gilt-Framed & Glazed Original Watercolour of English Rural Landscape by Patrick Oxenham (Brit. 1922-96)

Noted wildlife artist and illustrator, Patrick Oxenham made philatelic history in 1977 by producing the first postage stamp designs, featuring British wildlife, to be reproduced as fine art prints. He was subsequently commissioned by the Post Office to create a set of equine studies that became the subject of a TV programme called ‘All the Queen’s Horses’. He was also a well-respected painter of English landscapes and his paintings continue to be admired and sought-after throughout the world.This charming example of his work is a typical English rural landscape, un-date but probably from the period 1950-80.Height of Frame 32.5cm x Width 42cm (c12.75" x c16.5")
