rare victorian colonial rocking chair & footstool

Here we have a fabulous & extremely rare Victorian Colonial rocking chair with footstool.

It is beautifully made out of solid wood turned in a bamboo style - I am not sure exactly what the wood is but it has a wonderful original patina and colour. Hopefully my photographs describe the chair perfectly for me but if you have any further questions or require extra photo please let me know.We have included a vintage mahogany footstool with the chair but this would not have originally come with it.We have had the chair and footstool reupholstered in a gorgeous sage green decorative fabric which will be extremely hardwearing.I think this chair would be fantastic in a conversatory or summer house looking out on the garden or equally as good in any room of the house - an extremely comfortable and practical chair!CONDITION: In superb condition - strong & sturdy with no wobbles; freshly upholstered; a few signs of age and history which just add to the charm of this wonderful rocking chair! One thing I should mention is that the last time it was upholstered the upholsterer attached the material to the vertical stretchers either side - therefore behind the new material are several stud holes as photographed.
