Circa 1810, a Regency mahogany table top toilet mirror. The bevelled edge mirror is contained in a shaped mahogany frame. The bevelling on the top has a slight canting on it that follows the form of the frame, and is possible hand bezeled. These are held in place by two tapering and fluted uprights that finish on brass finials. The cross mirror is held in place by two brass rods with a turned knob handle at each side. These have a flower head in the centre and a ribbed stylish patterned edge. The box underneath the mirror has a flame mahogany ebony inlay on the fore edge and beneath are three drawers of different sizes. The centre drawer is the largest, and has had a lock filled in, giving the impression of a small diamond escutcheon. There are three brass knobs on the drawers and the whole piece stands on four turned elegant bun feet. It is an unusual piece.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Their goal has been to create a one-stop-shop where designers can complete an entire project from antique lighting to antique furniture to accessories. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
