Circa 1815, Regency mahogany and inlaid sofa table. The mahogany crossbanded top has 2 rounded drop flaps and a single drawer at one end and a polished dummy drawer at the other end. The flaps are hinged and when open are held in position by a very stylish carved acanthus bracket. The bracket is aligned with the sofa table end to give a very stylish shape. The drawer is inlaid and there are 2 inlaid panels on each side of the drawer. Below the top there is a very stylish base which is turned and has carved acanthus leaves on the column. Below this are 4 elegant swept carved sabre legs which finish in cast brass castors. The cast brass castors are styled in the form of acanthus leaves and finish on simple brass castors. The table has excellent colour and is very stylish.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Their goal has been to create a one-stop-shop where designers can complete an entire project from antique lighting to antique furniture to accessories. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
