Circa 1820, Scottish George IV mahogany sofa. The mahogany framed back has stylish carved ends and a simple top rail. The back, arms and seat are upholstered. The front of the sofa is again elaborately carved with upright fluting and foliate carving on the top. Below the squab cushion is a shaped rail with framed mahogany panels on each end. The sofa stands on four stylish classic turned and fluted legs finishing on brass tipped castors. There are also two cushions. Excellent piece of stylish Scottish furniture.
