Circa 1760. Scottish George III mahogany side table, attributed to Alexander Peter. The rectangular top with hinge flap above a frieze drawer, on club legs finishing on a pad foot. The drawer has its original cast brass swan neck handle with elegant pierced back plate. The flap at the back is supported by one of the hinged back legs. Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh.
