Circa 1920, harlequin set of 16 substantial Queen Anne style mahogany dining chairs, comprising 14 side chairs and 2 armchairs. The top of the chairs has a paper fold finish and a large vase splat in the centre. On the armchairs, the large shaped arm is attached to the back and finishes in a wonderful shepherds crook, held in place by a curved bracket. All the chairs have drop in seat pads, contained in a large substantial frame. The front legs are cabriole with carved scrolls at the top and finishing on pad feet. The back legs are turned and outswept finishing on a large block. These are united by very stylish turned stretchers, making the chairs very sturdy. The chairs are in excellent condition with good colour.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Their goal has been to create a one-stop-shop where designers can complete an entire project from antique lighting to antique furniture to accessories. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
