Circa 1890. Stylish oak and brass magazine rack stamped (W T & S) William Tonk and Sons, and also bearing a brass presentation label “To the Rev. J.W. Padfield by The Cheddar C.E.S. August 1897”. The four-section magazine rack with shaped tubular outlines and brass mesh are supported on a rectangular oak base over three shaped brass legs with claw feet.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh.
