Circa 1860. An unusual mid-Victorian satinwood and kingwood revolving two tier bookcase. The circular top with a small beaded and inlaid fore-edge, beneath this there are two unusual and stylish revolving tiers, each tier has three sections with leather surfaces, the books retained by a satinwood frame with the finest balustrades. The two tiers are supported on an elegant turned fluted and carved stem. Beneath this is further carving and the whole piece rests on three elegant saber legs with acanthus leaves on the knees, further inlay on the facings and finishing on a simple foot.
