This is a very attractive and unusual late 19th century early 20th 32cm high megaphone shaped 2 handled barrel with (military shell) coloured brass patina
This handsome well-made barrel has a full pewter type metal lining with two outer strengthening bands. The outside material of base of the barrel is made from wood although the inner is sealed in metal and its circumference at the top is 19cm and at its base, 32cm.
It has a construction which makes it water tight, so more than lightly that it was used for holding some form of liquid or to keep power dry for military purposes rather than domestic use.
This unique and unusual shaped barrel would make an extremely sensible purchase especially for anyone looking for an excellent investment, or even a special gift. I certainly believe that it would be quite difficult to easily find another example. of this original condition.
