Circa 1870. A mid Victorian carved and gilded overmantel mirror, the rectangular shaped mirror with slightly arced center, surmounted with a large pierced anthemion, with foliate scrolling on both sides, this carving continues down from the top to the base where there are scrolls with flowers, swags and further foliate carving. The original mirror is contained in a carved and gilded slip on three sides and moulded on the base. On each side of the base there is a large rectangular block with further carved and gilded wood.
