william iv mahogany sofa table

Circa 1830, William IV mahogany sofa table, the solid mahogany rectangular top has two leaves with a simple flat edge and rounded corners. Below the top is one long drawer with flamed mahogany veneers to the front and cock beading all around. At the opposite end is a dummy drawer. The table stands on a rectangular tapering column, very much in the Edinburgh style with its beaded decoration, on a platform base with concave sides. Beneath the base are four wonderfully carved animal feet which are attached to the table by floral or acanthus style leaves. Excellent colour and condition.
