Circa 1820. George IV mahogany fold over tea table most likely by ‘William Trotter of Edinburgh’. The top with broad flame mahogany cross banding and well figured mahogany, top hinged and swivels opens to reveal a similar interior. The frieze with the classic ‘Trotter’ quarter egg and dart beading on all sides, supported on a stylish tapering stem with foliate carving in the center resting on a concave platform base supported on four squat bun feet with original concealed castors beneath. Excellent colour and patination, clean sturdy and functional.
