A rare Parian ware jug decorated with a striking Gothic style design and surmounted by a pewter cover. Produced by Ridgway & Bates at their Hanley factory between 1856 and 1858. This piece is unmarked. The jug is identified from a contemporary line engraving, (an illustration from an exhibition catalogue?), showing various Ridgway & Bates wares. The jug is in perfect, original, sound condition with no wear to the decoration or damage to the pewter cover. Please note: The purchase price includes postage and packing.
