chinese export famille verte coffee cup & teabowl, yongzheng

A Chinese export coffee cup and matching teabowl, carved to the exterior with decoration of flowering branches, and decorated around the rim and base with bands of famille verte enamels. The coffee cup has also been decorated with underglaze blue decoration on the handle.

This is quite an unusual and subtle style of decoration, with the combination of the carving and enamels. The final two images show the cup and teabowl with a strong light shining inside, which shows the carved decoration. Height of coffee cup 5.8cm (2.3"), diameter of teabowl 7.3cm (2.9"). Date: Yongzheng c1723 - 1735 Condition :Both the cup and teabowl are in excellent, undamaged condition with no chips, cracks or restoration. The enamels are also in good condition, with only minor areas of rubbing (see images).
