Circa 1870, French gilded mantle clock. Depicting a young boy with a horn in his hand and a dog on a leash, and with a circular clock with white enamel face and Roman numerals. It is encased in a profusely cast casing with ribbons and beading at the front, foliate casting at the side and an urn and a plate to the top. Beside the clock is a casket spilling over with coins and all of this stands on a gilded base that has urns to both side, birds, deer, and foliate casting. The base is oval shaped and stands on rococo feet to the sides and cast feet to the front. The clock comes with its original oval ball dome on an ebonised base.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Their goal has been to create a one-stop-shop where designers can complete an entire project from antique lighting to antique furniture to accessories. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
