Framed & Glazed Original Late Victorian Watercolour of Moorland Scene with Bridge attributed to W S Morrish (Brit. 1844-1917)

Morrish is variously referred to as William Sidney or William Snell but I am confident it's the same artist, born in Chagford, Devon and studied under his Father Sidney and at Heatherley School of Fine Art in London. He was one of the most prolific of the Dartmoor landscape painters.

The present un-signed work is of a typical moorland scene with bridge over a river.

    Height of Frame c32.75cm x Width 40.25cm (c13" x c15.75")
    Height of Picture within Mount 15cm x Width 24cm (c6" x c9.5")
    Frame Thickness 1.5cm (c0.5")

Condition is typical for watercolours of this age, in a relatively recent frame, but, aside from a couple of thunder flies on the mount, picture, mount, frame & glass are all in good, bright, clean & sound condition.

    J-425082/1815B

NB: I am also offering for sale another Dartmoor scene by the same artist and monogrammed, in an identical frame of the same size and I will sell them together, as a matched pair, for £80.
