Circa 1860. Ormolu French clock surmounted by the neoclassical figure of Diana the Hunter with bow and hunting dog, all in quality cast and engraved gilded brass; the circular clock face, with blue Roman numerals on small white porcelain plaques. The base supported with griffins with garland swags over moulded circular feet. All on a shaped giltwood stand with moulded decorations, over small bracket feet. The circular brass clock movement stamped Gve Rey Jne, Paris. The maker of the exquisite ormolu case is unknown.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
