Circa 1900. A Qing dynasty teak camphor and burr-elm kist of generous proportions. The top with the insert burr elm panel with a moulded edge, the deep, hinged lid opens to reveal an uninterrupted camphor wood lined interior with a single removable tray, the front and sides with a similar burr-elm panels, retaining its original large square two 2-part brass back plate and clasp, resting on four elegant carved animal feet with extended reeded quarter blocks with carving on the facings of the feet.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh.
