Circa 1870. A quality rosewood and satinwood French portico clock of typical form. The architectural top with foliate inlay and a satinwood cornice and marquetry panel beneath. The enamel face with Roman numerals and a lovely gilded cast brass bezel. The clock is supported on four Tuscan columns with satinwood capitals and bases, there is the most extravagant embossed and cast brass pendulum which is adjustable. With further inlaid frieze panel beneath, various mouldings and string inlay, the clock rests on four squat bun feet, recently serviced and is working perfectly.
