Circa 1825, Scottish George IV mahogany arm chair. With shaped and curved top rail surmounted by a carved section and a carved central splat. Either side are scrolling sections before leading on to shaped arms which finish on a reeded section and supported by curved uprights. With square, tapering and slightly outswept back legs and turned, ring turned and tapering front legs on turned toes. The stuffover seat is in good condition.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh.
