Circa 1830, Scottish William IV mahogany bow front chest of drawers. Below the top is a very stylish ribbed fore edge which continues down the front in the form of pilasters, which have carved roundels at the top. The drawer configuration is unusual with one large centre drawer which has a stylish shaped border on it, small drawers to the right and a pair of drawers to the left. Below this are 3 further graduating drawers. All the drawer fronts have flamed mahogany veneers and the drawers have mahogany handles with mother of pearl inlay in the centre. Below the base drawer is a simple moulding and the chest stands on turned feet.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Their goal has been to create a one-stop-shop where designers can complete an entire project from antique lighting to antique furniture to accessories. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
