unusual antique c1900 - 20 indian kukri knife - sword machete dagger asian

A very unusual early 20thc antique Indian kukri with a very pronounced curve and wide bellied blade, the blade is of carbon steel and very sharp, it has a double fuller and typical kukri scandi edge grind, still very sharp fr age and with no edged damage.
The polish is not bad and there are no signs of pitting.

The hilt is made from a rosewood type hardwood and the scabbard is traditional except for the semi open top which is to allow the blade to be drawn and replaced in its sheath easily, the sheath is made from 2 slats of wood with a cotton covering and a gold and red brocade border and 2 top rings and ending with an ornate brass fretworked chape.Size is 34.5cm from tip of blade in a straight line to the end of the pommel of the hilt, blade is 24cm from the front of the hilt in a straight line to the tip, thickness of the spine at the hilt is 4.4mm.A very unusual Indian kukri and likely from the north of India made around 1900 to 20s.
