Circa 1900, good set of 4 Queen Anne style mahogany high back dining chairs. The tall shaped back has a carved paper fold top rail, above a stylish splat with an open section at the top, framed on all sides with a small reeded edge. The chairs have drop in seat pads with tartan covers. The back legs are swept out and vary between square and turned sections, finishing on an out swept square section at the back which has a chamfered corner. At the front are classical Queen Anne style cabriole legs finishing on a pad foot. The legs are united by very unusual shaped turned stretchers. The chairs are good colour and very stylish.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Their goal has been to create a one-stop-shop where designers can complete an entire project from antique lighting to antique furniture to accessories. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
