Christmas comes but once a year – but a gift of books can delight forever, each and every day. Perhaps no author is more synonymous with British and wintery Christmases than Charles Dickens. His collection of books, including A Christmas Carol, are timeless epics that belong in every collection. A fine example is currently available, which was published in 1935. They are blue, embossed with gilt titles – perfectly understated, but elegant gifts this Christmas. Wouldn’t we all rather be Bob Cratchit rather than Scrooge?
