unusual walnut open bookcase

Circa 1930, unusual walnut open bookcase. The top section has a burr walnut centre and crossbanded top. The lower tier is very similar and there are 7 various sections with fixed shelves in mahogany. The gables are veneered in walnut, and the piece stands on an unusual enclosed plinth. This could also be used as a whatnot or display case.
